I called in for the third time about this change and asked for a Supervisor to discuss it. I finally got through to a Supervisor, who looked up my account and she said that as I am on the Magenta Max 55+ with 3 lines, my Netflix service is grandfathered in and will not be changed to the one with ads. I asked her to confirm and she put me on hold, came back a couple minutes later and confirmed no change to my Netflix. As this is different from what I was told the last 2 times I called, I supposed I will see what happens over the next day or two when the change is taking place.

It's a big downgrade. I tried to watch Netflix last night for the first time since the downgrade and the ads plan wouldn't even work on my older Roku I did have a fire stick which it works on. If Netflix wasn't free I wouldn't have it it's not worth $15.50 a month imo.

I never received anything that T-Mobile was downgrading our Netflix to an ads plan. T-Mobile is going to crap since we've been with them about a year ago. We switched from Verizon to T-Mobile thinking we were getting a better carrier but little by little T-Mobile is deteriorating. I tried using Netflix last night for the first time since the downgrade and it doesn't work on older Roku it says you need to change your plan, but it did work on newer Amazon fire stick. The ads free plan is the same price it was before so this change to ads plan was for 1 reason TO SAVE T-MOBILE MONEY!

Yes certainly a downgrade. I was told nothing is changing just a few ads. Ok I get it with the price but what angered me was when I tried watching seasons I was in the middle of it now shows locked and even some new movies are locked. Says I must upgrade to the ad free plan to continue watching it. They pulled the curtains on that deal. Tmobile says it was netflix doing not theirs well that is part true but the plan was 12.99 without ads before and went up 3.00 so tmobile downgrades to save the 3.00 when in reality its saving them a bunch more. Tmobile brought netflix a ton of subscribers and has leverage and they chose not to use it. Adding in Hulu to make up for it is hog wash, i canceled my hulu when I was down to just 1 show left on it that was worth while because I cant watch abc i canceled it.

Your math is wrong. Its 8.50 to upgrade from the basic 6.99 plan on tmobile so tmobile is paying for the 6.99 as netflix costs 15.49 for the ad free plan. there isnt any savings. They built the 6.99 in your plan price. actually they built in the 12.99 into your cell price which is why now they are giving you hulu with ads for free for your other 6.00 with their savings to downgrade you.

I called back to get the porting pin number so I can easily change carriers and the agent said she would do everything she can to keep me as a customer, I explained about the Netflix downgrade and felt it is a reduction in benefit and she put me on hold. When she returned, she offered to upgrade me back to the Netflix without ads and will issue a $8.50 credit each month, for 6 months. I accepted and will revisit this again in 6 months. I quickly got my Netflix back without ads and the credit appeared on my account dashboard. I think it may depend on which agent you get as to how much help they are willing to do for you.

I tried after about 30 minutes on the phone the best he could do was 2 months. I explained the whole situation that this was a major downgrade. I signed up for the Magenta Max plan which I could have selected a lower plan to have netflix standard with ads but went with the max plan since it was standard no ads. Netflix was 12.99 for without ads and 9.99 with ads. Now netflix reduced the price of without ads to 6.99 and raised with ads to 15.49 and tmobile is pocketing the difference by reducing everyone. I pushed that to keep what I had when I signed up is now a price increase when was told no changes to your price ever. He understood and is taking it higher up and did talk with his supervisor but wouldnt budge on trying to get a 6 month 8.50 credit. I hope more tmobile customers raise a storm against them for this mess. He didnt realize some programs are now locked said he would look as well I listed some shows to him that are now blocked and says need to upgrade your plan to watch.
