Join us for a guided tour of the unique Ring Mountain Preserve atop the Tiburon Peninsula.

Date: Sunday, April 19th, 2026
Time:  9:30am-12:30pm

Known as an “island ecosystem," Ring Mountain Preserve is a fascinating geological site with unique serpentine soil that is home to at least 9 endemic or rare plant species, including the Tiburon mariposa lily (Calochortus tiburonensis), discovered in 1971 and found nowhere else on earth. Other inhabitants include 45 species of birds and hundreds of insect species, plus a diverse range of wildlife, such as coyote and mule deer. While we will be too early to see the Calochortus tiburonensis, April is the best time to see a variety of plant species, especially those that can also be grown in a garden setting! We will hopefully see some of the early bloomers as well as the mid-season flowers.

Ring Mountain Stewardship Coordinator Amanda Magallanes will lead our tour and include a snack/lunch break.

The event is limited to 24 registrants and registration is required. There is no charge.
