Saturday, March 14 and March 21
From 9 am-12 pm

Meet at Fireplace Plaza (below the evergreen lane entrance to the park).

Directions: From Ashby Ave take Alvarado Rd to Slater Lane, Slater Lane to Evergreen Lane, turn Right onto Evergreen Lane. Garber Park is at the end of the street, and Fireplace Plaza is just down the stairs past the entrance. You can park on the side of the street but please do not park in any driveway or individuals parking pad.  For those who don’t mind a short, but steep walk up the hill you can park at the Claremont Ave parking lot and walk up the trail, until you hit the stairs. A map and directions to both entrances can be found at garberparkstewards.org.

Tools, gloves, and snacks are provided. You’re welcome to bring your lunch to enjoy in the park after the volunteer event.

Wear closed-toed shoes you don’t mind getting dirty, long sleeves and pants, sun protection, and bring your favorite water bottle.

Join the Garber Park Stewards as they continue removing non-native and invasive plants! Due to the rainy season, you might see banana slugs and newts crossing the main trails. Grab a rake and rake the main trails, grab a pair of loppers and help cut down fallen branches, and fill bags with eucalyptus debris to help make the park more fire-safe. Volunteers will also be pulling ivy, himalayan blackberry, forget-me-nots, and grasses like ehrharta grass. Invite your groups, neighbors, friends, and family for a fun day of restoration!

Questions? Contact the stewards at gpste...@gmail.com

If your group would like to volunteer in Garber Park, please send an email. A different date/time can also be arranged.
