Hello!
A heartfelt thank you to all of you who have volunteered for your local Refuge or have helped the Refuge via promoting volunteer events! You are stewards of the land, and we appreciate your efforts so much! Since March, when we kicked off the stewardship weekends, we have had more than 100 volunteers join and do amazing work in cleaning up invasive weeds, picking up trash, and giving the Refuge some much-needed TLC. Your participation and your help in spreading the word make a huge difference to the Wildlife Refuges and our local communities, and it is extremely appreciated by the Refuge staff! We feel the love flowing! It is so important to build a strong relationship with our local communities. It is so powerful when people who believe in the benefits of environmental conservation come together and work towards it!
This time, I would like to let you know about the upcoming stewardship event on Saturday, August 23rd, at 9:00 am. Sign-in starts at 8:45 am. Please see the Eventbrite link below for more information. We hope to have a well-attended event once again! You can really help us achieve this, even if you cannot make it, by spreading the word! The marsh is absolutely stunning right now! Gumplants are brimming with bright yellow flowers along the high marsh, the water is sparkling in the sloughs, and the pickleweed is lush and green. August is a beautiful time to visit the marsh! Come enjoy the stunning views, learn something new, and contribute to the preservation of our natural habitat. We look forward to seeing you there!
Please, please, spread the word!
