Join Friends of the Hillside for a special Easter-themed restoration morning at the El Cerrito Hillside Natural Area—a true hidden gem with breathtaking views over the Bay.
The focus will be on removing the invasive field calendula (Calendula arvensis).
Think of it as a springtime “treasure hunt”—but instead of eggs, we’re spotting (and removing!) calendula among native wildflowers, all while enjoying sweeping views and fresh spring air.
This event is open to all ages:
Kids can explore, learn plant ID, and enjoy being out in nature
Adults can deepen their understanding of native ecosystems
Everyone can contribute at their own pace
Whether you’re experienced or just curious, come celebrate spring, discover a beautiful and often-overlooked landscape, and help native plants thrive—one handful at a time.
