Hi All,
Feeling better  and hopefully less rain so we can all get moving a bit faster. Jim has gotten the peas and beans in the ground and we have decided to put in a second crop. some melons and squash have been planted and are coming up well. We are putting in a tomato  garden and if all goes well planting yams and potatoes in the next week or so. We will be planting a variety of beets and radishes between some of the squash plants. The herb garden is expanding.
Bill will be looking for some help possibly this morning to put in some gates he's built for the rear section. If you see him working offer a hand. He's not sure of the time due to a number of factors,
Thank You!
Tony

We were able to find 30 pounds of potatoes in PA for the shared areas and will try to get them planted sometime on Monday. Look for an email about the time and come help!

Thanks for the update Tony.  Looking forward to a yummy tomato salad with fresh herbs from The garden. Did you plant garlic? :)

I was at the garden after the rain stopped last night and found the shed door wide open.
Please everyone - when you leave the garden make sure the gates are closed and the shed is locked.  If others are still working int the garden - check with them if they need to enter the shed, if not - lock it.

Thank you, have a good looooong weekend and happy gardening.

I have 2 giant sunflowers that are a foot tall already ... is there anywhere around the garden I could plant them??  I don't want to block any sun.  By the community garden sign??  I know they will attract birds and critters too.... thoughts????

I think on either side of the Community Garden Sign would be a great idea!

Hi Laitha,
I'm fine thank you. The only thing you can do is wait If the at least start to get a bit red you can try picking one and put it in a  paper bag  in a cool place to hurry things along Sometimes putting in a piece of ripe fruit helps . Good luck nice to hear from you, I
Tony
