Gardeners,
The EB Community Garden donated over 250lbs of fresh produce to the Senior Center! Great job everyone!     Together we can reach our goal of 1000 lbs for 2012!

Here is how - There are two coolers in the garden for everyone to place donations in. If you don't see a cooler near your plot, please check in the other section of the garden (occasionally one of the coolers will be on its way to or from the Senior Center).
Fresh produce should be taken to the Senior Center as soon as possible, especially in this hot weather. Donation are accepted every weekday 9:00am-4:00pm, but not on weekends. Everyone can deliver to the Senior Center - Please see a note from Daphne below.
We need help with delivering to the center on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays.

From Daphne:

I have people checking the coolers regularly on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but we could use your help other days of the week.  Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.
I spoke with Rachel Steinberg, the director of the Senior Center and she said that the procedure you should follow is to take the produce into the office and the office will take the produce to the kitchen.  Enter the Senior Center on the side of the building on Civic Center Drive, walk up to the reception desk and turn left and walk back to the office.  Ask the ladies at the desk about what they should do with the bags of produce.  Remember to check both coolers in the garden.
There is a scale and a notebook in the upper right corner of the shed where you will find these items.  After recording the date, Cooler donations (under where the produce came from), and the pounds of produce then make sure that you lock both the shed and the garden before taking the produce to the senior center.
