The veggies we found in the cooler today, basil, cucumber or zucchini,
and I think some chives, were rotten so we had to discard them. The
inside of the cooler was very hot.

Theresa, thanks for letting everyone know. I'm sure the exceptionally hot temperatures this week caused the problem since we've never had anything rot in the coolers in the apst. Having said that, it is incumbent upon everyone to keep an eye on the garden, coolers included. If you see produce in the cooler, please check that it has been weighed by looking in the book in shed, and take it to the Senior Center. Dropping it off only takes a few seconds and they are very appreciative. It is important to remember that we are a Community Garden and that "community" is the operative word here. Everyone needs to be part of it and to help it to function or all we have is a bunch of people gardening on their own. We are always looking for help running the garden, so if anyone is interested just let us know. The garden works best when there are lots of hands helping out! Happy Gardening! Dave
