January 2012 Newsletter
It has been a big month for this little organization. A new year, some new volunteers, some Board development, and an exciting expansion. I can't say more without giving it away!

Introducing: BikeWorks North!
Alex is stoked! Photo by Rob at GigCity
Nearly a year after EBC's decision to pursue a second community bike shop, we've found our northside home for the next few years. Located at 9305-111 Avenue in the Norwood community, the space is a 1,500 square foot warehouse with a large bay door and a smaller second level office space. We anticipate the grand opening to be in April 2012.
BikeWorks South (our current location) will definitely continue to operate as usual. We hope that the addition of BikeWorks North with allow more people to access our services for do-it-yourself bicycle repairs, purchasing low cost second-hand bikes, donating unwanted bikes, bicycle rentals, trailer rentals, and the many educational courses and bike events we host throughout the year. Now is a great time to show your support for EBC by purchasing/renewing a membership and donating to help with this expansion.
We would love to meet our new neighbours! If you would like to help us set up the new space or would like to volunteer once it opens, please sign up here. We are also having a Renovation Meeting on February 9.
Project Advisor
Due to the large scale of this project, we are looking for EBC members or community members who have project management experience and have worked in building renovation. Please contact Anna to discuss this opportunity.

EBC is always in need of photos that highlight bicycle transportation in our city. We'd like to get shots of people on bikes in all weather and all corners of the city. Photographers are credited and if we really like your stuff, you could be our Photography Intern this summer. Contact in...@edmontonbikes.ca.
