Hi dear,

This is the follow-up email regarding market segment among LCs in the same region, which has not reach consensus in the last legislative meeting.

SITUATION

Current Market Segment 1
For the last 8 years, the way we divide segments for LCs is:
+ University-based: a fixed number of universities
+ City-based: the rest

Current problem: unfair in terms of virtual promotion, restrict university-based LC and loosen the focus of city-based LC  (as the market is too big).

Proposed Market Segment 2
Some LCs suggest to change the way we segment the market to:
+ University-based: a fixed number of universities
+ City-based: a fixed number of universities
+ Open market: the rest

Predicted problem: confusing for customers

PROPOSED SOLUTION

We has agreed to really consider again about these ways of segment and officially make this into a project from 26/1 until 15/2.

Here is what have been done:

MC suggest to combine these two ways. Specifically:

+ For TMP: externally and internally communicate and agree segment without open market (remain the current market segment 1)

+ For Exchange program (oGCDP, iGCDP, oGIP)

Externally: we communicate the segment without open market

Internally: we agree with each other about open market for exchange programs. In this way, city-based LC will need to define their key universities based on something called university potential framework (developed by MC and will be introduced on 7/2)

Open market: will be managed by MC
+ If LC want to to take one university from open market, they need to submit application to MC.
+ Physical promotion/ activities: get approval from MC
+ Virtual promotion: results will be measured by link tracking. It means we give each LC a link, the application from which LC's link will belong to that LCs.

Alumni, international students, other provinces: similar way with virtual promotion (using link tracking)

OPEN DISCUSSION

From now until 5/2. Please raise all of your concerns regarding to this new way of segmenting the market, if possible, write down all the cases that happened in the past to see if this change can actually solve them or not. Both MC and LC can also contribute ideas to make it better and clearer. LCPs please forward the email to your LCVPs.

Link to submit concerns/ ideas: CLICK HERE

Expectation:

1) Be specific
2) Be solution-oriented

On 7/2 MC will have another email with data analysis, university potential framework and further action steps to make sure the project done on 15/2.

That's all for today and sorry for not being able to send the email earlier.

If you see any point in this email not clear enough to understand, please write to me for explanation.

Warmest regards,

Em không có ý kiến gì đâu ạ. Chỉ có là cái này discuss qua email thì hơi khó thôi ạ. Lúc MC discuss ngày 7/2 có involve LCEB vào không ạ?

Hi all,

We have already done with the regional meeting of both Hanoi and HCM region. All the LCPs already understand about the way MC suggest to do segmentation. You need to discuss again with your EBs to see if there is any concern/ possible challenges. For the timeline, we revise it a little bit taking into consideration the time LC may need.
  • 13th Feb: LC raise all the concerns or suggestions to MC regarding to new way of segmentation. In term of concern, we encourage you to think of solutions as well. If still cannot please pass it to us.
  • 14th Feb: MC will try to give answers to all the concerns and consolidate suggestions. Generally, if there is no concern big enough to require us to change the whole thing, this way of segmentation is considered as "pass".
All the data files as well as other template necesary for LC to define key market will also be sent on 14th Feb
  • 15th Feb: Podio workspace, link tracks and implementation guideline will be done
  • 17th Feb: LC submit to MC the list of all universities in their key market, which include:
+ The high-performing LC based on past data
+ Current SU universities
+ 1-2 Research universities potential to be the next SU
For research universities, LC will need to fill in a simple form made by MC.
  • 18th Feb: MC send clear written agreement to all LCs.

Hi Hanoi region,

We confirmed again the time of the meeting. It would be 10PM 11th February 2014 and conducted via Skype.

Simply MC will present to you how we are going to segment the market and why.

The outcome of the meeting would be:
  • Whether or not LCs in Hanoi region agree on the segmentation with "open market"?
  • If you agree, both LCs need to finalise the universities in your key market before 15th February.
From the meeting yesterday with HCM region, we think it would be best to send you the powerpoint in advance so the meeting will be fast and more efficient. So wait for another email from mine within the afternoon.

Warmest regards,

Hi dear,

Please find things related to Market Segmentation Project (MSP) in this Dropbox

For all the concerns in the Open Discussion and some more from Theresa and Chuoi, most of them are answered in the PPT. The rest will be consolidated in one file and updated to Dropbox latest 9AM tomorrow morning.

As there was no concern really require us to change the way we do segment, therefore this segmentation got general agreement from all the LCs. All the next steps will be proceed according to timeline in the previous email.

@Theresa: I and Akshay will revise the form and set expectation clearly with the applicant. If your LCVPs have any ideas to make the application form better, drop us an email ASAP

Best regards,

Hi,
We already started promotion for TMP recruitment, keeping communication the same as the current state (without any change). After the discussion abt market is finished, we will apply the change from the next recruitment, regardless of program (eg. Spring GCDP, Spring GIP, etc.).
