Dear National Plenary,
“If you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”
Today marks exactly halfway during our term as MC Dragon Team 13.14. It is a challenging, rewarding and worthwhile experience, with the support and commitment of each individual in the team. And as a team, we continue our role within AIESEC Mainland of China in developing a generation of globally competitive leaders to positively impact tomorrow’s China.
I am writing to inform you that Jacky Huen has been discharged from MCVP LCD 2013.14 with immediate affect.
This was a tough decision. Jacky has demonstrated his high efficiency, strategic thinking and structured planning framework, notably in each of the four regional EDSs (Entity Development Summits). Nevertheless, the MC team have suffered a great deal regarding underlying communication and cooperation between Jacky and the team, spilling over into clear inaccurate and misleading MC communication through Jacky. This can be a result of clear differences in fundamental values and beliefs towards the development of AIESEC Mainland of China, which has escalated into more personal differences clouding working relationships. This can be a result of presenting an ill-informed MC message and strategy to LCs, even misleading both MC and LCs regarding the direction for implementations of EDM. This can be a result of wanting to go alone faster.
As mentioned at the start, MC Dragon Team 13.14 is committed towards our organisation development in line with our 2023 vision, of which EDM (Entity Development Model) is a key feature. EDM is not a strategy, something MC or LCs can drive, but an organisation operational revolution. Therefore, from a strategy created back in early 2012 by MC Dragon Team 12.13, it cannot be wrongly implemented.
Bringing this together, Jacky’s position as MCVP LCD 2013.14 has become untenable (could not continue) and so I must remove him from his role within MC Dragon Team 13.14 with immediate effect. The non-achievement in two quarters in EDM implementation, demonstrated by the current lack of LC clarity about “what to do with EDM” and miscommunication between MC and LCs in such matter cannot continue. The importance of suitable EDM implementation is paramount and will always remain so.
I personally, and I’m sure MC Dragon Team 13.14, would like to thank Jacky for commitment to AIESEC Mainland of China and will support with any future plans beyond.
If you have any questions regarding this, I would request to contact your LCP (current or elected), who are in constant communication with our MC coach. If it seems fit, feel free to contact myself, but appreciate I am currently in Indonesia attending AP MCP Summit. Again, I would like to reiterate that Jacky does no longer represent the opinion of or communication from MC Dragon Team 13.14.
I would like to close by bringing you back to the opening line of this announcement. As LCs are in the process of EB selection, I cannot stress enough the importance of a united team to “go far” in not only achieving your year goals, but the development of your LC in the impact you want it to make on tomorrow’s China.
