Do you have a tutorial on how to create a favicon? I'm not a web
designer or graphic artist.

When I export my graphic as a favicon, the image is all black at the
top and text is cut off at the bottom.

Please help, my favicon is dead simple.

Regards,
John

Well, I'm not either, but your problem sounds similar to one I've had,
when I export a drawing as a jpg or png. The Export window has a
menu for Background, and either Black Background or No Background
might be causing your black image.

Truncated text -- just guessing here -- might be related to
permissible pixel dimensions, or to the middle popup menu, for Just
Graphics, Selected Graphics, Full Drawing Area etc. My last step
before exporting is to draw a rectangle around my graphic, "framing"
it as I wish, and on Color & Style unselecting Outline. That gives me
an invisible frame, and when I export as "Just Graphics" I get a
border of white space.

In your example, unwanted white space above your favicon might be
causing the app to truncate the image's bottom edge. Do a Select All
to see if you have an unwanted invisible graphic lurking above or
below your image.

You will want to go to EazyDraw Help - use search phrase favico --
about 2/3 way down the page are detailed instructions.

In Add Pack there is an example -- best bet is to open that drawing,
zoom in on it - delete everything - copy your graphics over.

Seeing "black" may not be bad - that is just transparency. You need to
post the icon to really see what it looks like - the Help page tells
you how to post it to the web site.

That help page covers both transparency and using an invisible
bounding box - you probably need a defined box to prevent the
clipping.
Keep in mind they are "tiny" -

Thank you for tips. I was able to improve the icon; however, I was
unable to figure out how to remove the black bar at the top.

My workaround, I cropped my favicon image from my logo, saved it as a
file, uploaded it to www.favicon.cc, downloaded the new icon, and
posted it to my website. Worked great and it only took about ten
minutes.

I think EazyDraw can learn from favicon.cc.

Thank you again,
