I'm a new user. I'm trying to draw a network diagram. Connectors represent cables from device to device. I'm using orthogonal connectors but find that they don't avoid drawing over the shapes they are connected to. In other words, when a shape is moved, the orthogonal connectors draw the shortest route even if that is over a shape. Is there an option to have ortho connectors avoid (route around) shapes?

Thanks.

No, there is no option for automatic routing. The routing is manual.

Draw and annotate crossed schematic paths with the Cross-Over element. The Cross-Over palette is on the Tools main menu. Several Cross-Over shapes are provided, such as Jumper, Bridge, or Break. Apply the Cross-Over to the front-most path. Choose Auto for positioning. Of course, forms such as the Dot are available to indicate the schematic connection of the tracks automatically.
