Hi ladies,
Hope everyone had a good summer! Eli started kinder today; he's so not ready! It's a good thing that he has an excellent teacher who will whip him into shape.
We've moved away from plastic lunch containers and use stainless steel. We're using divided sandwich containers from LunchBots and like them. U-Konserve also has good items (discount code below). I like their glass containers for home use; afraid to let the kids use it at school. I don't like the U-Konserve ice pack because the pack leaks too easily. I bought three, and all of them lasted less than a few months.
For hot lunch, we like the Stanley thermos. REI sells them, and I'm sure you can find them on Amazon and elsewhere.
As for backpacks, I bought Eli's at Childen's Place because it was on sale and he liked the design. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a good backpack because my older kids changed to rolling ones by 3rd grade due to weight of books, etc. being too much for them to carry. I guess this all depends on how much homework your school gives.
Julie
