As I understand, if I use keyed messages in one of my topics, the kafka partitioner will always send messages with the same key to the same partition and this will ensure the ordering of that particular set of messages.
Also the default partitioner will initially make the decision to which partition to send a message, based on the number of partitions available to that particular topic. Something like messageKeyHash % numberOfPartitions.
My question is, if I have a topic with let's 5 partitions, and send 3 messages that have the key A and they are all assigned to partition 0, and later I increase the number of partitions for that topic from 5 to 5+x, will kafka "remember" that messages with key A are supposed to go to partition 0 or the partitioner may send messages with key A to another partition?
Yes if you increase the number of partitions you will lose such guarantee because messages with key A could go a different partition and not to the partition 0 anymore.In general it's good thing to over-partition or at least knowing the best number of partitions when you are going to create the topic.
After a little googling, I came across the source of my problem: resizing partitions. Note that I only know for sure that partitions 9 and 10 are associated with Ubuntu, and partitions 1-7 are associated with Windows. I am pretty sure partitions 8 is also associated with windows. I change P1 from OEM to Recovery, P6 from Primary to Recovery, P7 from OEM to Primary, and P8 from Unknown to Recovery.
You should then be able to restore your system -- either to factory defaults (using the OEM disc) or to a standard "retail" installation. Either approach means that you won't have to guess about the status of any of your partitions. You could easily dig yourself into deeper trouble by making such guesses.
You may need to change the partition type by a dispart (a Windows utility) in command prompt running as an administrator to match the original setting. The original partition ID can be found in [info.ini] in [OKRBackup/Factory] folder in PBR_DRV partition.

so i was gradually making the ntfs partition smaller and the ext4 one bigger using kde partition manager, and when i tried to delete the rest of the ntfs drive and resize the ext4 partition to fit it, it failed after moving the files to the left (by 700gb)
I found a testdisk partition table backup from the first time i tried it, and it lists a 134mb used / 128mb unknown partition and a 1153GB used out of 1074GB partition. Both of them display the same filesystem corrupted thing when i try to preview the files, but it lets me select both as primary. is there anything i can do with this?
Then try your luck with testdisk, and others... if you're lucky the original partition is still whole but it depends on what exactly that program was doing. If it died mid-move, there might not be a single partition but at least two segments of one... you could use dm-linear to map it but you'd have to identify those segments first. Testdisk doesn't handle that. If the kde partitioner does not have a resume and recovery function, then probably no other program handles it either. If it can be done at all, it will be a manual process.

If it's a known file type (for example, Stardew Valley uses XML) you can try to search photorec for (text files with header tx?) type and then you'll have to check file contents yourself (take a known good savefile and grep for unique contents like specific xml tags).
As for recovering the filesystem itself, it may be possible in theory but there isn't a ready made tool for recovering a botched mid-move. If it can be done it'll be a manual process of identifying the data segments on disk.
