Robin and others:
I can be at the ELF booth/table from 1:30-2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Yes, I
can make copies. Drop off what you'd like to copy with the number of
copies needed.
As for info on the benefits of eating local foods -- might any of the
brochures I brought back from the BALLE conference help? Seems to me
there were some nice summaries in that.

Hi all,
I'm still looking for some folks to join me at the Community Health
Day at Sauder Village this Saturday (see description below). Please
note that you get free admission to the Village for the day, and
apparently a free lunch! Can't beat that! This is a great
opportunity to promote the Nov. 5 Everybody Eats event, and the Eating
Local Foods Network in general (and more). If you have suggestions
for informational items to hand out in addition to fliers about the EE
event, please let me know. A quick fact sheet on the benefits of
eating local foods would be super - please share with me anything you
may have come across that could be adapted for us.
The table is available to us from 10-4, so if anyone can come for even
an hour, it would be great. Ed, could we get some copies made at the
college of any handouts we end up with?

Hi
Thank you so much for agreeing to be a part of the first ever
Community Health Day at Sauder Village on Saturday October 17, 2009.
We are thrilled with the response and your willingness to work with us
to provide important information for our guests of all ages.
To confirm the details:
* We will be setting up the displays in our Festival Barn. It is
enclosed but unheated so you will want to dress accordingly.
* We will provide you with one or two 8 ft tables and chairs. If
you haven’t already done so, please let me know how many tables you
will need. You will probably want to bring a table covering for the
tables.
* Set up will begin at 8:00 AM. The Village opens to the public
at 10:00.
* You and your families (or those manning your table that day)
will be our guests for the day. If you have several shifts coming,
just ask them to mention at the Admissions Desk that they are coming
to work at your booth and they will be let in.
* Each person manning the booths will get a coupon for a free
lunch in our Village café. The Café will be open from 11:00 – 2:30
that day.
* If you need electricity for you booth, please let me know.
* The Village will be open from 10 – 5. The activities in the
Festival Barn will run 10:00 – 4:00. You may tear down at 4:00 if you
would like but will not be able to drive any vehicles into the village
to load up until 5:00. We do have carts to help you take things out to
the parking lot. (Or if you would like, you can use the last hour to
enjoy the village!).
* We are hoping for more than 500 guests that day and have begun
promoting the event. I have attached a flier that I hope you will be
able to copy and post in your offices. Your help promoting this event
will be greatly appreciated. We will be having larger signs posted on
site acknowledging all our partners and all the activities going on
that day. We didn't have room to list everything on our flier but
wanted to give an overview to try to grab the attention of the
community!
If you have any questions, comments, suggestions or needs, please
don’t hesitate to contact me at
419-445-2541 ext 3030 or email at
aerb...@saudervillage.org. Thank you again for your willingness to
be a part of our day and I look forward to seeing you on October 17!
