Last week, we released a conversation about city climate funding focused on Measure HH, a ballot initiative in Berkeley to put the city's money where its mouth is. The measure would raise several million dollars to advance clean energy and energy savings, with a focus on disadvantaged groups. Ben Paulos, energy expert and member of the city's energy commission, explains the importance of the initiative on our Local Energy Rules podcast.

Also, if you heard mention of solar at the presidential debate, you might like to know that it's provided more than 10% of new US power plant capacity every year since 2012. In 2019, it was 35%, half produced by customers themselves. Solar energy is already prime time.

Keep your energy local,
John

P.S. It's not just the feds supporting local businesses! Check out this piece from my colleague Kennedy Smith on how state and local governments have provided $9 billion in COVID relief.
