Last Call for Comments: The Public Utility Commission will be accepting public comments on NW Natural's proposed 12% rate increase
through March 31. If you would like to add your comments, you can do so using
CUB’s Action Form or by emailing
puc.publi...@puc.oregon.gov with the subject line “Public Comments on UG 435”.
CUB sends big thanks to all our members who spoke out at the recent public hearing on this rate case. Check out our March 22 blog to see what CUB members shared at the hearing.
To create a future that cares for both people and planet, we need to build better. Better homes, better places of work, better schools, better buildings. In this blog, we cover why buildings are a major climate issue, explore “decarbonization,” and look at action steps for building with less climate pollution.
Oregon's gas utilities are suing to block the state's Climate Protection Program. CUB is concerned that the lawsuit increases economic risk to customers - while these utilities invest in new pipelines, the cost of future regulatory compliance rises.
The 2022 Oregon Legislative Session ended with all CUB-supported bills becoming law. The new laws protect Oregonians' access to energy efficient cooling and heating resources, support high-speed internet access, and help Oregon move closer toward building decarbonization.
Thanks to all CUB members who voted in our recent board election. Check out this blog update to learn more about returning board members Shelley Batty, Rob Brading, and Christy Anderson Brekken, and newly elected board member Reba Crocker!
Starting in April, Oregonians will begin to see the rollout of income-qualified energy utility assistance opportunities, thanks to the 2021 Energy Affordability Act. The first two are from Portland General Electric & Cascade Natural Gas.
