to Easy Riders Yay!
Hey Easy Riders! It's time to get back in the saddle...

...and we're takin' it back to the 'Couve. This time we're doin' it
MUP style! That's right, Vancouver has Multi-Use Paths too and Easy
Rider John Kangas has mapped them out and will lead us through the
twists and turns of the Discovery Trail.

This will be a 26 mile loop that starts at the Expo Center MAX
station. If you're feeling a little frisky and want to ride more, you
can meet me at Vera Katz and pedal up to the Expo Center. We're not
planning to make a food stop this time so if you want snacks on the
ride please plan ahead and have them with you at the start of the
ride. The route is mostly flat with a fair sized climb (like, maybe
300 ft) and a couple short but steep decents so make sure your brakes
work.

We'll be riding an easy pace. No one gets left behind.

I'm going to call this a kid friendly ride but want to make a few
caveats. First, the bike path on the I-5 bridge is pretty narrow. I've
never ridden across it with a trailer but I know someone who has and
he says a normal sized trailer fits but it might feel a little tight.
Second, the route is 26 miles so it probably is not too friendly to
youngsters riding under their own power. Third, we keep it rated G on
the ride but once we get to the after ride drinking place, well, Mom
was a trucker and Dad was a sailor and I don't want to be blamed for
extending your child's vocabulary...

we take our libations in Vancouver or do we come back to Portland?
We'll figure that out on the ride.
