Internet disconnects when launch emule

Hi,
I have a persistent problem and I think it may be because my internet
service provider traffic shapes. Every time I launch emule - about 20
minutes in, it would disconnect my internet and reconnect, this would
happen whenever I open emule. Once I close emule, internet works fine.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
