Kad Network not connected

Dear all,

I have emule v0.50a installed on a Windows 7 32 bit OS.

When I walked through the first-time run wizard to the connection
page, the TCP and UDP ports were automatically input by the wizard. I
did not know what ports to set, and I could not seem to test port
because clicking "Test Port" button would link me to a webpage, which
to me was not very helpful.

ED2K network is now connected but Kad network did not seem to connect.
I am a bit behind technology (not techno savvy) and look forward to
some helping hand.
