I am running out of ideas where to look further.
- So I had my easycap set up on my new laptop last week and received nice images from my camera.
- Since of this week, all I get is a black screen, and, for the life of it, I can not find the problem.
- The camera transmits signals on channel 2. On any other channel I get grey noise, just on channel 2 I get a black image. So I must assume that the camera is transmitting. But all I get on the console is
Unexpected block, expected [aa aa 00 00] found [00 00 00 00]
...
Unexpected block, expected [aa aa 00 00] found [00 00 00 00]
bad sync on line 0 @260 (0104)
bad sync on line 0 @0 (0000)
bad sync on line 0 @0 (0000)
...
Except, when I start on channel 2, mplayer does not open at all. It seems somagic-capture is not producing any output whatsoever on channel 2. When I start without antenna, I also get grey noise, but as soon as I screw in the antenna, the image turns black.
The firmware must be fine, else I could not have received a signal last week. The installation must be fine, since last week it worked all the same with the 1.0 or 1.1 .debs or if I compiled myself.
The command line i am using is
somagic-capture -n --sync=1 | mplayer -vo xv -vf screenshot -demuxer rawvideo -rawvideo "ntsc:format=uyvy:fps=30000/1001" -aspect 4:3 -
and there may be my weak spot, since it MAY be, that I used some other flag last week, and forgot. i tried --sync=2, which did not fix it, and I am quite sure, the -n flag is right.
I'd appreciate any ideas. I am really stuck ...
