Have installed the kernel with the modules on ubuntu, and can view one camera but if i try to open another camera i receive a kernel panic and other apps are displaying that the device is in use.

Is there anyway to get multiple channels working at the same time as my aim is to use it with zoneminder or motion?

Thanks

Kurtis,
The easycap does not support capturing multiple channels at the same time. The hardware simply does not allow it.
The hardware can select ONE of the input channels to be captured at any one time.
Software can cycle through the channels, but you will NOT get ALL channels simultaneously.

Also, compare the functionality of the windows software. If it were possible to capture all channels at the same time, it would be possible here (I'm 100% certain it isn't)

I've just installed the software (super viewer) that came with the stick and it does allow me to view all 4 channels at once

Are you sure you get 4 video streams "at once" and not one-by-one? Super Viewer simply switches between inputs and you get 7 (30/4) fps per video input.
