Cron weirdness

Dear all,

Loving easyapns, but I don't understand how the notifications are
working.....please help!

I set the cron up at 12pm yesterday but notifications were sent to all
3 registered devices at 21.23pm, 21.27pm, 8.56am & 8.57am. Why?

Here's my cron:

- */5 * * * * nice /usr/bin/php -f http://xyz.co.uk/pushservice/apns.php?fetch
> /usr/local/apns/apns.log 2>&1 &

And here's the code in my apns.php:

$apns->newMessage();
$smiley = html_entity_decode('👀',ENT_NOQUOTES,'UTF-8');
$apns->addMessageAlert("You just got the {$smiley}LOOK{$smiley}!",
'PLAY');
$apns->addMessageBadge(5);
$apns->addMessageCustom('acme1', 'bar');
$apns->addMessageCustom('acme2', array('bang', 'whiz'));
$apns->addMessageSound('chime');
$apns->queueMessage();

$apns->processQueue();

I really don't understand what's happening & any help would be
appreciated.
