Nehru Centre cordially invites you to a Special Cosmology Lecture "The Origin of Cosmic Structure" by Prof David Wands*, Professor of Cosmology, Director of Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom on Tuesday, 13 December 2011 in the Hall of Culture, Discovery of India Building, Dr. Annie Besant Road, Worli, Mumbai 400018.
*David Wands works at the University of Portsmouth, investigating the Big Bang and theories of the very early Universe. He is an expert in the origin of structure in the Universe, working with researchers in the America, Europe and Japan. He studied for his PhD at the University of Sussex, before being awarded a Royal Society University Research Fellowship, and becoming Professor of Cosmology at the Institute of Cosmology and Gravitation in 2002. The Institute brings together theoretical physicists and observational astronomers to tackle some of the big questions in modern cosmology.
