Dear Neighborhood Friends,

I have two items to share that are fortuitously related.

1. Mary Lee and I will be moving to Santa Rosa in the beginning of August, so I will no longer be available to act as Block Captain to our Neighborhood Watch Group. Since this Google Group has gotten so little feedback, I may be announcing this to a non-existent audience. If someone is reading this and wants to build on what I and others tried to start, the second item, an announcement from the RPD crime prevention unit, is relevant. If you would consider taking on this task, I would be happy to turn over management of this Google list and provide information on how it works. David Cole (510-619-6338)

 Dear Neighbors:

We're excited to announce that the City of Richmond Crime Prevention Program is hosting a virtual block captain's training!

This training is open to all residents of the City of Richmond and is completely free of charge. It's a fantastic opportunity for residents who are interested in getting their neighbors involved in neighborhood watch. It helps connect you with public safety and the city to improve the community.

We offer this training twice a year to help fast track and register block groups. As a participant, you'll receive a block captain tool kit, signs, decals, and all the necessary tools to engage your neighbors in neighborhood watch and promote community safety.

Your partnership and support as a neighborhood watch member mean the world to us, as you play a crucial role in crime prevention. We would be honored to have you join us for our virtual meeting. Please confirm your attendance as soon as possible, and if you have any questions or need further information, don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you for considering this invitation. We can't wait to have you participate in our virtual block captain's training!
