BSO - Credit Where Credit is Due

Given my vocal concerns about what has been happening on the beach,
it’s only fair to report the good news just as quickly! We have seen
a swift and sure response on the part of the Broward Sheriff’s Office
regarding our concerns about the vagrancy near the beach. According
to the local businesses – Frank’s, the Beach Barbershop, and others –
BSO is now a consistent, visible, effective presence in the area and
they have been quick to respond and take action.

Last night, I was panhandled by one of our “regulars.” I immediately
called 911. BSO arrived and arrested the suspect in short order.

Wow! Kudos to Captain Evans and his team for working with us to clean
up our streets.

While it is frustrating for all of us (including the deputies who have
to repeatedly deal with the same individuals) to see that these folks
often return to our area almost immediately, we all know that this is
an issue that did not appear overnight, and it will not be solved
overnight. Like anything worthwhile, it will take time, patience,
persistence, and all of us working together.
