Hi everyone

Here are the action points from the meeting on Monday:

Facebook event set up for Robin Hood Tax discussion and action evening
- I have done this so please get inviting

Leila - please can you confirm with the Gallery Cafe that they will
put the event on their newsletter they email out and on the leaflet in
the cafe? Please can you also remind them that the event is happening
and will they open any later than 8pm?

Does anyone have access to a printer to print off the poster Sebastian
made and take it to the Gallery Cafe to put up?

I will send the poster to other local charity groups (I have already
sent it to the World Development Movement)

We need to email Sophie at Oxfam an agenda for the evening and ask her
what to talk about! I propose the following:
1) Sophie to start with a 15-20 min talk outlining the Robin Hood Tax,
how it works, how it has been launched to the public etc
2)Points for Discussion (20 -30 mins) and Sophie to answer questions.
Points to discuss: if the government are beind it and if not why not?
objections to the tax; the latest with the campaign
3) Actions we can take to promote it as individuals and as groups
(10-15 mins)

Please let me know if you think we should add or change anything then
I can email Sophie to let her know her involvement.

Claire - I looked at the Dalsoton Oxfam Shop facebk but only I could
'like it' and I couldn't see how the East London group and their group
could be linked!

We discussed contacting the Oxjam co-ordinator to see what events were
coming up in East London - Lucy do you know who this is and their
email?

Next meeting Mon 6th September at Gallery Cafe, 7pm (Adeija I know
this is the date of your event but it is the 1st Mon of the month and
leaving it until the week after is too close to the event)

Thanks

Tess

Hi

Please can someone let me know where we are with the following
points??!

I need to email Sophie from Oxfam to confirm the event and Sebastian
from Greenpeace. Owen, who runs CLOX the Central London Oxfam Group
wants to have his group meeting at the cafe before the event and then
the central group members can stay for it and chat to us about our
group.

We have a meeting on Monday 6th at 7pm so hope to see you there!

Have emailed Gallery Cafe about the points below.

I think the proposed running order sounds good!

Hi

Thanks Leila - if you haven't heard back from them to confirm opening
until 8pm we should ring them or ask on Monday at our meeting.

I have emailed Sophie the agenda and copied you and Sebastian from
Greenpeace in, I have also replied to Owen from CLOX (Central Oxfam
Group) to say we would be delighted to have them come to the evening
and they want to hold their meeting before the event from 6pm at the
cafe.

Hi

Update for the Robin Hood Tax event this Thursday:

Gallery Cafe have confirmed the evet is in their monthly flyer and
they can stay open until 8pm.

Sophie from Oxfam has the agenda and is happy with it - I will chair
the Q&A session

Sebastian from Greenpeace has been promoting the event handing out
flyers and is hoping members from other groups he has been in touch
with come along

Owen from CLOX and Bethnal Green Fairtrade Group has also invited his
group members along

Claire and I have printed posters and put up in coffee shops etc last
week

So fingers crossed it all goes well and people turn up!! If you can
please meet me in the Gallery cafe at 6.30pm to set up

Thanks

Tess
