Dear activists,
We have just this moment launched an urgent campaign to help get the Gaza
blockade lifted. You are vital in the success of the campaign. I ask that
you read the below, take action and then spend some time spreading the
word amongst your own networks- it is you and your friends and contacts
that can really build momentum.
With the eyes of the world focused on the situation in Gaza, the government has its first opportunity to show its mettle on the international stage. The words are there:
"There can be no better response from the international community to this tragedy than to achieve urgently a durable resolution to the Gaza crisis" William Hague, June 1 2010
“The blockade is neither justified nor sustainable . . .it has created a humanitarian catastrophe. This incident has shown that we need to move towards removing the blockade” Nick Clegg, June 2 2010
The UK can call for an emergency international conference to lift the blockade of Gaza, allowing the free movement of people, humanitarian aid and commercial goods.
Email
the government
To show your support for bold government action. Feel free to edit the
text.
Text LIFT to 70066
To show your support for bold government action. This is a brilliant 2
second action as you will then get a reply which you can text around all
of your contacts- hopefully creating a bit of a chain awareness plan.
Send a sticking plaster to your MP
To symbolize the need to lift restrictions on essential humanitarian aid
and goods – with a letter asking them to contact the Foreign Secretary
calling for an emergency international conference.

Any and all of the above with your friends, colleagues and family. How
about using this checklist to make sure you get in touch through all the
channels available to you?
1. Do
the actions yourself.
2. Update
your Twitter and Facebook profile with the action.
3. Email
your friends and family the action and this checklist.
4. Email
the people in your neighbourhood who you reckon are movers and shakers
with the action.
5. Twitter
the action, with different wording, 4 times a day especially at 4:01 (most
read apparently!!)
6. Keep
your eyes peeled on our website for more ideas and activities that will
help us together make a huge noise.
Did you know?
We will be developing a briefing pack and lots more content and ideas to help you and your groups make a real difference.
Thanks for all you are doing, if I can help with anything please give me
a bell.
