Hello all,

how are you doing?

I hear things are not totally good, it seems everyone is a bit busy to give the group any momentum....

What is the consensus, are you wanting to abandon the group or re-inject it with energy/ a new leader?
  • I think it would be a real shame to abandon it, let me tell you why:
  • you have a core group of people with some brilliant skills and passion
  • you have already made some ace connections in the community (gallery cafe/ other groups)
  • you have already pulled off two brilliant events (more than many groups do in a year)
  • we have loads of exciting stuff (materials and activities) for you to get involved with over the next few months
  • you have only just started and the first few months are always the hardest
  • I have people who are really interested in joining

If you agree and don;t want to give it up then here are some options:
  • One of you could step up as the new leader/ coordinator and really inject it with life (this would be ideal, anyone keen?)
  • I could recruit a new leader from scratch (advertising etc) who can work with you guys

I would love to know your thoughts on this!

    Lucy
xx

Hi Lucy (and group!)

I was wondering what happened. I felt the discussion was really good and presented some interesting opportunities.

I would like to step up as leader, however I don't think it would be fair as I am pretty overstretched at work at the moment and so don't really feel I have the time to give the group enough time. I would be happy to support someone else/share duties.

I don't want to give up entirely, however, I do feel that without an injection of energy and some new members the group would petter out...

Sorry not to be able to offer more but I don't want to promise anything I am not sure I can commit to.

Thanks,

Leila

Hi everyone

Yes the discussion evening was great however I am not wanting to
continue being part of the group, sorry but I'm volunteering for
various homeless charities in East London and don't want to say I'll
continue to be part of something I can't give 100% to. I also have
some family stuff going on so trying to go home to Suffolk a bit more.
I will continue to support Oxfam on a national level but am afraid I'm
afraid my participation in the group has had to take a back seat for
the moment.

Tess
