Hello Everyone
Thanks to those who came to the meeting this week and those offering
to hlep out even if they couldn't make the meeting!
Here are the points discussed:
Tea Party with Swap Shop is confimed as 5-8pm at Tina We Salute You on
Sunday 6th June
We will need to get there earlier to set up & decorate - decorations;
campagins & equipment we need like pens and t-shirts to be disucussed
at the next meeting
IDea of having bunting and a washing line qwith pegs for people wo
write ideas on and then we can hang (rather than having a board).
Alex to finish flyer this weekend and send to Lucy on Monday. Lucy -
thanks so much for getting the printing sorted!
Claire and I can come and pick up the flyerers & posters next week
from the Victoria office or if anyone can have them sent to their
house that would be great (I can't as I live in a top floor flat with
no doorbell!)
We can then distribute the flyer next week until the event - I am
happy to pound the streets & hand them out to local shops as I now
have loads more time in the day.
TEXT FOR FLYER
Wel iked the idea of having more about the sort of events we may hold
and contact details on the flyer so front text will be something like:
'We are a local campaigning group looking for passionate people who
want to overcome global povery and suffering, climate change and would
love for your to get involved. Bring your creative ideas to Tina We
Salute You on Sun 6th, 5-8pm and help us form the East London Oxfam
Campaiginng Group.'
ON the Back - we need a map; the facebook group; the google group
address & some text - 'We are a new group that are on the look out
for members to help us plan events to promote OXfam's current
campaigns; future events you could help us organise are; letter
writing to lobbly the local government; creating art istallations &
photo exhibitions to promote Oxfam's work; film screeenings to create
awaremenss of campaigns; swap shops & music nights. This summer we
will be building relationships with local businesses and attending day
festivals in East London such as 1-2-3-4 Shoreditch on 24th July. If
you are interested in joining us contact us...'
NEXT MEETING IS - FRIDAY 28TH MAY AT 7PM AT BRICK LOUNGE 212 BRICK
LANE- a sort walk from the top of brick lane (ring Tessa if you are
late or lost on 07769900182) We will discuss the literature we need
and give out flyers to the group to distribute.
Lucy - I will email you re what literature and action cards we can
have to hand out and are we able to borrow 4-5 T-shirts & when I can
pick these up from Oxfam.
Alex - once the flyer is done please send to Leila to make the
facebook event & Adizah for the blog
Lucy - please can you make Leila an admin for the Facebook Group so
she can send the event to all of our members?
Adizah - please use the text from the flyer once Alex sends it to you
and I am also happy for you to put my email address on there as well
Thanks
Tess
