(Steven Cooper is a Developer Advocate  for Paypal/BrainTree and runs Battlehack http://battlehack.org/

From organiser Jose Ramos's email >>> "Hiya Makers and Hackers

We're looking forward to our event with Steven Cooper and our chance to learn about the emerging Internet of Things.

Here is a quick and preliminary schedule:

  • 6:30 - A short intro to the Lab and Co-op (come a bit early if you want to have a look around)
  • 6:40 - Some networking and community announcements
  • 6:50 - Over to Steven to blow our minds
  • 8:30 - Wrap up

Steven has offered to "sponsor" the pizza... Thanks Steven...

Location - 41 Robbs Rd.

Parking is on the corner of Glamis Rd and Robbs Rd. Nearest train station is West Footscray.  "

Walk through gate opposite Currajong St, between 2 big buildings, turn right at other end and enter other big building through the big doorway in the middle. For the meeting room, walk to middle, turn right, walk to end & thru several other rooms. For tea-room and toilets head right from meeting room doorway & left at corner.  (Damn, broke the pattern!)

See you tomorrow night!

If you can get to Footscray West well before 5pm you might like to visit two birds with one trip by touring Melbourne Museum Of Printing http://mmop.org.au/about/contact.htm which should be open from 2-5pm today. Even if the curator is in, the door will be locked so you'll have to ring 0407330602. (I'd do it before embarking too actually, to make sure it will be open.)

My fav article on MMOP and it's curator is at http://www.dumbofeather.com/conversation/michael-isaachsen-is-a-collector/ , especially because the lamps in the last photo look like thought bubbles going up to the last quotation from Michael. Since that article, things are even worse for MMOP. There is little if any other volunteer effort, the rent is behind and the landlord could evict at anytime. So in a few months the collection might be busted up, and some scrapped for the metal. Or it may be still slowly drifting closer to the waterfall.
