Lanarona and her twin had separated earlier in the evening as Le'car had wanted to catch some sleep before he had his riderly duties in the morning. As it was, they'd spent their two birthingdays most enjoyably at the Gather. It was one of the things Lana had come to love about being a turn's end baby; a Gather was like a party all for her and her brother, not just for the new turn. Her faithful canine trotted at her heels, happily wagging her tail and taking in all the sounds, sights, and smells of the Gather. The young woman eyed a fancy scarf in one stall before her attention was stolen by an exquisite set of knives in another.

"Isn't everything fantastic?" she asked her friend, Rhi, who had been walking with her. "I think this turn's Gather has really outdone itself." Lanarona swayed a little as she walked, happy and filled to the edges of her skin with a contentedness that didn't often strike her with this level of force. She couldn't wait for the next Hatching and wondered which Queen might Rise first. Would Linauth be due?

A Gather was always a nice time to relax, and walking with her friend, Rhi let her mind wander idly. She needed to find some gifts still, but that could wait. She'd no doubt that the ever-friendly crafters would have something on display that'd catch her eye and the seller her marks. She belatedly realized Lana was talking and snapped back to reality iin time to catch the last few words. Glancing around a moment longer, she chuckled.

"Oh sure. Granted, this go around we don't have any golds that might go up mid-Gather. I don't thing anything will top *that* Gather for a good few Turns." Glancing at a bracelet, she paused a few moments.

"The crafters do seem to have upped their game this Turn though. I'm going to be considerably poorer by the of this one."

Lanarona laughed in reply to Rhi's comment about the Goldflight at the summer Gather over a turn ago. "Very, very true. No, that was a memorable Gather in its own right, for reasons that had nothing to do with the sellers." She stopped next to the other candidate as her friend looked at one particular bracelet. It was quite a fine piece of jewelry, if Lana was the type to wear jewelry on more than a fancy party basis. "I can watch your purse for you, if you'd like. Though Gathers do only come around every few months and as you said, they have seemed to upped their game here." A set of earrings looked lovely in the torchlight and Lana wondered if her foster-mother might like them as a gift.

OOC: *bump* This is the thread to start the search through the Gather for Mirene's attacker, for all who want in! Feel free to let Lana (and Rhi) know that something is up, or join in on the conversation before the crazy strikes.

Remiel was not quite in such good spirits. She had already felt useless the night past and had gotten little sleep beside. Was a weyrwoman not supposed to have charge of the lower caverns? Know what went on there? But even the trained guard on duty at the time with a watch wher at his side had been blindsided by this. How could this have happened? And how far away could they already be?

Remiel was sure that if the attacker had not been successfully barricaded within the weyr at the outset, he was probably miles away by now. And it was highly unlikely that he was at the Gather, at least from her perspective. She definitely felt as though she had been sent there to search for him simply to get her out of the hair of the people conducting the real cordon and search at the weyr.

She sighed. There was little chance that Remiel was going to enjoy herself here, even if that was what they meant for her to do. She thought it likely they did not much care what she did as long as she did not foul up the real search.

(OOC: So, theoretically, anyone from her weyrling class or T'ral or anyone else could run into her, yes? :D Sorry this took so long.)

Le'car had done his best to help in the search for Mirene's attacker, but there was only so much a young bronzerider like him could do. Other than do what he was already doing, which was to keep his goldriding comrade company and essentially do anything she needed of him. And it wasn't a burden; Lea was as worried about the situation as Remiel was and knew she must be feeling some amount of stress, being a goldrider and older than he by turns. It had only been a few candlemarks at most since the attack had even happened, and still people had tried to tell the pair of them to relax to no avail. Things were too immediate and needed to be done, even if the Weyrleaders were even at this moment meeting to put an official plan into action.

When the suggestion had come that the Gather should be searched, Le'car and Polloth had lept at the chance, both eager to find whoever did this and to distract their classmates with something that actually felt productive. Once the dragons had let their riders off at the edge of the merriment, Polloth turned to his golden sister. ((Perhaps we ought to check the perimeter? Let the other dragons here know to keep a watchful eye for anyone suspicious?)) The young bronze knew it was likely that Channith had already broadcast the news, as had Linauth herself. Still one could never be too careful, and they might as well do something, right?

"Do you think we should find a few others to spread the news? To keep an eye out?" Le'car asked his companion, brow furrowed some. He knew his sister and her friend Rhianna were here somewhere, and both girls would want to help if they could, he was sure. "Not make a fuss or anything that might tip the attacker off, just let some of the folks here know to be wary?"

(OOC: Sorry for the delay! D= And yes, theoretically anyone could run into them here.)
