Eilowynth had patiently waited out the crazy adventures. Part of a loving relationship was tolerating the other's crazy. Arly's fear of heights and lightning (and now, fear of death-by-flying-rock, how silly was that; it was like she thought rocks were a common airborne hazard and that was like fearing fire under water!) had kept them grounded more than any Weyrleader order ever could. Eilowynth wore the silly gauze and helped convince the two little ones to wear theirs, and they all stayed put in their weyr except to eat and bathe.

Bo-ring.

But it was all over. The sun was out. The ash was gone, except for murky puddles that silly flits kept playing in. The lightning and rocks were gone. The storm had passed and the sky shone blue. Arly smiled tightly, hugged Glitter (as Shiny had fled for exercise and something that still tasted like terror), and refused to budge.

((I am going to see Ilyenath,)) Eilowynth finally told her, dancing impatiently within her weyr. ((I cannot stay put a moment longer.))

"Have fun." Arly said stubbornly, clinging to Glitter, who was still too young to know when enough was enough.

((Do not strangle her.))

Arly gave Eilowynth a prissy look and turned neatly on her toe to go back inside.

Eilowynth heaved a sigh, then burst out of her weyr into the sky. ((I'm free!)) She cried, rejoicing. ((Ily, where are you? Tell me what I've missed!))

Ilyenath had been decently understanding about needing to stay mostly grounded during the active volcano period, though she and Kalenia had probably taken a few unnecessary flights. Of course, Rinleoluth's constant questioning about who was going where and why had done more to keep the pair conscious of necessity in their actions rather than gleefully flitting about in the chaos willy-nilly.

((Eilo! My sister, my love!)) the green cried from her place on the weyrbowl ledge, finally getting to enjoy the sunlight after the storm. ((I am here! On the weyrbowl!)) She rose up and reared, flaring her wings to draw her clutchmate's attention more gregariously. ((Oh, joy, what joy it is to be free!)) True, Ilyenath may have been a little melodramatic, but Eilowynth hadn't even been allowed to come see the volcano. Arly was cute and nice and had a good scrubbing arm, but sometimes Ilyenath wondered what it would be like if her sister's rider was more like her own.

((I'm coming! I'm coming!)) Eilowynth was not the largest green, and by far not the most powerful. She was lucky to not be the first green to tire during Threadfall (which Arly loved for some reason). But she winged up there frantically, just happy to be *able* to do such a thing. ((Air! I missed the air, and the wind over my wings, and the view, and you! And everything! Oh, being grounded is such a terrible thing! We are creatures of the air, you know, not of stone. Lousy weather.)) Panting slightly, she settled next to Ilyenath and gave her a happy nuzzle in greeting. ((How did you all fare over this... adventure? Tell me everything! Did you get to see it? Others have such wild stories! Netinth told me he got hit by a flying rock. Can you imagine?))

((Air is wonderful!)) Ilyenath replied to her sister, equally joyous, and returned the other green's nuzzle when Eilowynth arrived next to her. ((Oh, you know, well enough, I suppose. The ash was awful but I didn't have too many problems with it. Then, I wasn't stupid with it, not like some.)) There was one blue who'd supposedly wanted to see what it tasted like and swallowed the ash to the wrong stomach. SIlly dragon. ((Oh, is Netinth alright? I didn't get hit, but then Sohruth's was being extra careful with Mine so Sohruth and I had to actually behave so as not to worry them too much. At least the hatchling should arrive soon! It's so exciting!))

((Aww, did you not go on grand adventures?)) That was slightly disappointing, and some of Eilowynth's excessive ebullience deflated. She had beenĀ  hoping to live vicariously through Ilyenath. Ilyenath's rider and weyrmate were bold and fearless, much the opposite of her own darling rider. ((Of course you weren't stupid! You are never stupid, lovely.)) She nuzzled her sister again, so happy to be FREE that she was practically oozing affection. ((Of course, there is that little one! How is your rider doing? I want to come see the little one when it's here! I'm glad you were being careful, although it is quite boring, isn't it? Arly is always excessively careful. It's that fear of falling, you see.)) She confided. ((It's a shame. Ah, Netinth--yes, he's alright, I believe. Just fussy and he has a nasty bruise on his tail. I hear his rider almost kept him out drills for it! He refused the infirmary, though. You know males.))

((I wasn't allowed as many as I would have liked, no, sadly,)) Ilyenath lamented to her friend, adding drama for fun. The green sniffed daintily and crossed her forepaws. ((With the hatchling coming soon, I was told to not get into too much trouble so I wouldn't make things worse.)) Were she a human, Ilyenath would have stuck her tongue out then for emphasis. Reinflating her cheer at the compliments from her dear, dear sister, she returned the nuzzle whole-heartedly. ((My rider is doing well! She's nearly ready to pop, as she keeps saying!)) A mental chuckle accompanied that image. ((I am sure Mine and Sohruth's will welcome you and yours when the little one arrives! And yes, oh Faranth, being careful is soooooooooooo booooooooooooring!))

Ilyenath nodded at her sister's confidences. ((Well, that's good to hear about Netinth. Better just a bruise than anything broken or torn!)) She pulled a face. ((Yes, maaales.)) A mental giggle echoed after as she lapsed back into happy silence.
