I usually always stop at bustling Pearsonville, famous for hubcaps, when traveling to and fro from san diego to Mammoth, 1 time in 3 I`m rewarded with a Le Conte`s thrasher as i was on the 6th. the thrashers are usually seen from my car, they may nest there as I had a pair last spring.
I drive east of the shell station on a dirt road that skirts the agricultural field on the north and east side, I drive the east side till it moves away from the agricultural field, Theres often birds on either side of the car, really easy off and on the hwy, good bathrooms and the subway sandwich place there has a better selection than most subways
happy motering
