to eastern sierra birds
On 28 Sept, a N. Saw-whet Owl intermittently sang (at least 3 'hoot' notes per second) throughout the night at our White Mtns campsite below Grandview Campground at 7510.' After recently having a mid-Aug bird in our pinyon-juniper campsite in south-central Utah, I'm surprised that Cornell's 'Birds of the World' doesn't cite this biotic community among the habitat types where this species is apt to be found.
