Everyone please read below, disappointed but understand. Going forward we all need to be more proactive if we want to race F18. But if we get enough interest in the Sail for Hope which I think this year it's called Sail for Pride they will give us a separate class. I've done this event the last 3 years on the Carbon 20 with the NEMA fleet. It's a blast they send us last and we chase down the big very expensive Monohulls. It's around Jamestown and back to Newport, just like the Hobie 16 did this past weekend for the 100. Please respond to this email either way.
Thank you, Joe Valante

Subject: RE: New Port Dinghy Regatta
Hi Guys,
CC'ing Brad on this conversation.
The F-18 class was removed from the Newport Dinghy Regatta because nobody had signed up. I took a look at the calendar for the class as well and it mentions several local events including the NE 100, but not the Newport Dinghy Regatta. We were under 2 weeks to go and the Etchells class reached out with 10 boats saying that they would love to sail as the Annual Regatta at NYYC had been canceled and they were still hoping to sail that weekend. We then plugged the Etchells into that circle and eventually removed the F-18s.
We are in a position now where we can't add another circle and in an effort not to slow down racing too much, will are limiting the circle to 3 starts (505s, Etchells, VX Ones). It was obviously our intention to have the F-18s sail as they have been on the NOR and listed for the last 4 months on the registration, but we made a change at what we feel like was a reasonable time to get another class involved in the event. We definitely hope the F-18s will advertise the event for 2021 and get boats signed up earlier and hopefully under more relaxed circumstances when it comes to COVID-19!
On another Note- we are happy to create a separate class for the F-18's for the Sail for Hope fundraiser Regatta on September 12th or we can simply add them to the multi-hull class. This year we have chosen some great charities who have been heavily affected on the front lines of the covid-19. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank You,
Matt

Matt,
If the F18’s are invited, can the Phlotilla registration is e be modified to allow us to enter. I believe we have a fleet, but hard to confirm because it looks like we are not invited.
