29er US Nationals and 29er NA Champs Review

We look forward to seeing you at the US 29er Nationals and NA Championships this summer!

Here's a snapshot of information to help you register for these events:

29er North American Championships
  • When: July 4-6, 2019
  • Location: Squamish, BC.  Squamish is about 40 miles north of downtown Vancouver.
  • Organizing Authority: Royal Vancouver Yacht Club
  • Website:  www.royalvan.com/29erNAs
  • Notes:
    • This venue is known for its wind!  That's why the event is sited here.  
    • The 2002 29er North American Championships were sailed in Squamish.  The winning crew, Hunter Lowden, is your Principal Race Officer!
    • The historic average water temperature at Squamish for this time of year is below 60 degrees F.  Bring your wetsuit.
    • Please pay special attention to the insurance requirements listed in the Notice of Race
    • International 29er Class rules require that you have a SOLAS compliant safety whistle while sailing - in any 29er event!

29er US Nationals
  • When: July 12-14, 2019
  • Where: CGRA facility in Cascade Locks, Oregon - in the region also known as "The Gorge"
  • Organizing Authority: Columbia Gorge Racing Association (CGRA)
  • Website: www.cgra.org - click on "29er US Nationals" on the event list.
  • Notes:
    • Five 29er championships have previously sailed here because it offers awesome skiff sailing conditions!
    • Please pay special attention to the venue rules and regulations discussed in the Notice of Race
    • If you want to come early to train/practice, please take a look at the event titled "29er Pre-Nationals Training Camp" on the CGRA website.
    • International 29er Class rules require that you have a SOLAS compliant safety whistle while sailing - in any 29er event!  Whistles will be available at the event.
