Meeting started at 1320H.

The meeting was through the invitation of Ms Workman, Community
Development Officer who wished to be enlightened as to the planned
Filipino Cultural Event “Kapamilya Festival 2010” on 3rd July 2010. Mr
Kit Tupas handed over to Ms Workman a copy of the 24 Points Event Plan
submitted to the Belfast City Council’s Parks and Events Department
for consideration as well as the quotations of the mobile stage and
generator to apprise her of equipment and props to be used for the
planned event. Ms Workman informed the group that as far as her centre
is concerned the 3rd of July will be free for use by the Filipino
Community and they are just awaiting communication from the Belfast
City Council if the planned event has been approved.

As the planned event will make use of the open football field more
than the community centre, Ms Workman advised that the use of the
field should also be discussed with the local community leaders and
parade’s group as the event will fall within the parade season and
they could make recommendations as to appropriate arrangement from
setting up of the venue and actual running of the events as well as
participation by the locals in the program. She will get in touch with
other community leaders in the area and will contact Mr Tupas as to
when a meeting could be called to discuss further the event. The
meeting will be an evening one.

Mr Tupas will also try to contact the Parks and Events Department to
gather update about the application, as accordingly, the committee has
held an evaluation meeting on all applications last Thursday.

Also discussed was the venue arrangements which should be based on the
recommendations of the Fire Brigade. Coordination with the Police
Service (PSNI), Health and Safety and Insurance coverage (Public
Liability) were also discussed which was agreed that pending approval
of the use of venue by the City Council, they could be put on hold and
discussed/complied with at a later date.

Meeting ended at 1410H.
