Hi Minyan --

East Bay Minyan's signature Lag Ba'Omer Bonfire -- this year co-hosted by Urban Adamah and sponsored by nearly a dozen community groups -- is this Saturday night! Come out for havdalah, kosher s'mores, music, and, of course, a roaring fire. Kosher BBQ, snacks, and drinks provided. Can't wait for Saturday? Then come to our Shabbat in Oakland this Friday and/or an Iraqi cooking demo on Thursday. Details:

When: Thursday, May 15, 7pm.
Where: Berkeley Chabad, 2942 Claremont Blvd, Berkeley.
Cost: $10.
Pearl Sofaer, author of the cookbook “From Baghdad to Bombay” will demonstrate the fascinating cuisine of the Iraqi Jewish community. Co-sponsored with JIMENA and Berkeley Chabad.

Kabbalat Shabbat in Oakland (more)
When: Friday, May 16, 7pm. (Come earlier to schmooze!)
Where: Baum Youth Center, 341 Macarthur Blvd, Oakland. (House with steps/porch. Directions here.)

EB Minyan is where you’ll want to be for day thirty-three! Come celebrate the end of an ancient plague by joining us and other East Bay Jewish communities for a conflagration of Biblical proportions. You bring friends, musical instruments, song books, camping chairs, flashlights, and warm clothes. We’ll provide kosher BBQ, snacks, and drinks.
