Our dear Uncles,Aunties and makkals got together at Silversand yesterday and once again it was testament to the strong bonds of the East African connections burning bright.
We are a most blessed group is what each of us makkals felt.
We have had the best and most forward thinking and educated parents.
Decades ago when our parents made the dark continent their home,they blended so much discipline,humility and focus in their lives.
They valued friendships to the hilt and were there for each other and the families.
They and the makkals have seen the huge bonds flourish and grow.
For us the biggest blessing and strength in life are our parents and we are hugely indebted to our beloved uncles and aunties who have been a big part of our life.
Missing Daddy,Rajan Chettan and the uncles,aunties and the makkaks who are sadly no more with us.
Mummy,we and our families consider ourselves truly lucky to have been part of the lovely get together.
The camaraderie,warmth,love,care and concern was only too evident for all to see.
Shobha chechi opened the meeting with warm words and also spoke of the inception of the makkals group.
Thereafter the loss of our dear uncles and aunties in the recent past was remembered with utmost sadness.
It has been a very difficult year for our group and we could feel the emotions run strong.
Our prayer remains that each one stays in good health and that the Lord showers every peace and joy on this most precious group .
Music and melody filled the air when BKN Chettan,Raju,and Nivi sang.
Jokes,laughter,sadness and sharing of many cherished memories by the uncles,aunties and makkals followed by a hearty lunch all lent so much to making the meet one that we will remember for a long time to come.
