Having been posting in Google Groups for some time, I felt that there
is a need for the voice of minority groups to be heard. This could
lead to controversies but it could also lead to a better
understanding. If we respect one another's views, we could all learn
from each other.

I congratulate you for taking the initiative to start a newsgroup
that will open channels for people to discuss their personal views
about current events and events of historical interest. Those who
brush aside this initiative should consider the fact that dialogue
amongst various peoples must be established if we want to avoid
annihilation of our human species. Here is a chance for us to view our
opinions openly without fear of persecution, and discuss what we each
feel about the situation in which we find ourselves - use it ! Do it
even if it's only for recreation.

Thank you John. Thanks for your support. I hope we can find out about
other people all over the world and air our fears, and anxieties, and
hopefully we can understand one another better.

You're welcome. It's a long shot, Mike, but something worthwhile for anyone to undertake. We must all do our share of bringing people to understand one another. You may have noticed that I have almost detached myself from the newsgroups, although I still write occasionally in my music and computer newsgroups. I shall endeavour to support you where I can, but I am very busy now, preparing for my last concert tour to the States next month. Incidentally, I have also bought myself a new computer, one with a dual core 64x AMD 5200+ processor, 4Gb RAM, 1,000Gb harddisk - it's a gem, specially with this new Vista operating system. My wife bought me a small laptop for my travels, and I've actually managed to install a Chinese Vista operating system on it - gives me ample opportunity to practice my technical Chinese. I've uploaded a load of photos onto a site called FaceBook. Should you be interested, here's the link to my site: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=15953&id=764155359 . You'll have to join them first though, before you can see anyone's pictures.

Best wishes,
John.
