My 13 yr old son (ADHD & anxiety) has had a long time "habit cough", seems more of a nervous habit than a tic, but we are not sure. We have tried many things over the years, but I want to rule out anything physical. I would like to find an ENT who would be sensitive to our situation.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Thanks,
Victoria

Hello,

I don't have a good EMT, but I have a great psychologist who could help with diagnosing the issue.  Sherry Pruitt with Parkaire Consultants.  770 578-1519.  She treats children and adults with ADHD, Tics, etc.  She is helping my son with his tics and has taught him how to counteract some of his tics or habitual behaviors so that he can control/stop them.  She has raised two children with Tourette's and has written books about ADHD, Tics, etc.  She speaks at conferences around the world and is an incredible, smart, wonderful person that relates to kids and adults alike.  I don't know what I would have done without her.  I'm sure she, or one of her staff can help you, or, recommend who you can see about your son's issue.  Good luck!
