Hello,

I'm observing a number of sidewalks in the Bluebird District that are still snow covered in icy.

I'm reporting them to 311, but I thought maybe Councilman Hinds could address this directly with the Bluebird Business Improvement District, potentially giving them a stipend to address these issues themselves.

I'm sure this issue exists in other business Improvement districts, so if it's successful, maybe this solution could be replicated elsewhere.

I'm sure we can all agree that icy sidewalks are dangerous, especially for those who are older or have limited mobility.

Thank you in advance for addressing this ongoing issue in our community.

Respectfully,

Hello again everyone,

Snow is in the forecast for Denver. The amount is yet to be determined.

Here is my concern & my request...
Businesses will often leave sidewalks uncleared of snow & ice until they open for business later in the day. Some will never clear them at all.

When sidewalks do get cleared, they often are still obstructed by ramps that have been blocked by the snow plows, or unclear crosswalks.

So, I'm asking for my City Councilman & local business improvement districts to remind business property owners that they're responsible for clearing sidewalks. This often gets passed to businesses in the lease agreement, but doesn't help for vacant properties.

I think the Business Improvement Districts could take the lead by reporting unclear sidewalks & having someone clear the crosswalks. This is especially important at the newly installed Colfax BRT Stations.

(Colfax at Franklin)

If the Business Improvement Districts won't be taking the lead on making sure businesses clear sidewalks & clearing crosswalks, then who will?

Thank you in advance for your help addressing this issue in our area.

Respectfully,
Bryan Wilson
