Everybody look over the attachment as it breaks down everyone's roles. The Rock says, "Know your damn role."  Things are going to be a lot more streamlined from this point. More focused.

With that in mind, Maria is going to be the actual managing editor now. She will work with the three of you and find the best ways to help you get what you need. You are all still autonomous units, the stars of your show. You guys are all still Kobe. She is your Derek Fisher.  Let her help you find the best ways to go about things, and let her know exactly what you need from her.

Maria will be in contact with everyone by July 14. By then, we should have a little bit of the legwork done and she can know how to help you guys best:

Mike: Let's figure out how much time you're going to need to format the next issue. I'd like to give you a month and a half, but let me know how much time you think you'll need.

Alex: Let's work on stockpiling art/artists/cartoonists. I think I can have issue 2 comics done (I have two so far). This will ensure that you have six months to find the next batch of cartoonists.

Jeff: Let's work on getting more reviews and set up interviews with Yiyun Li, and getting some Dispatches in order (I'm editing Joel's as we speak, in talks with J Scotty about some weirdo in Oakland).

Michael: We have Kenneth Radu, Rachel Urquhart, and Jacqueline Berkman so far. I still owe Eric Neuenfeldt an email, but I'm waiting til the issue's up. That's three of the seven prose pieces filled, maybe four. Maybe now's the time to kick it up to eight.  Let's talk about how many more solicited pieces we want in order to get most of this in the can in about a week or so when we see what we're getting from submittable once the issue's up. I think that'll dictate things more than anything else.

This doesn't mean I'm not available to you guys for help. If anything, Maria will ensure I'm more available if you need me. For the most part, I'd like to be hands-off and respect your authoratah.  Anyone has thoughts, concerns, questions, let me know.
