Justdoing a casual playthrough and after the various frame stuttering solutions I've employed on the game, I'm now experiencing some very rough frame pacing issues in chapter 7. More specifically, around the sector 5 slums, Aerith's house and the monster areas when you leave the church. I've been trying everything I can to get a frame counter going through MSI afterbuner, but I cannot for the life of me get it to work. All I can say is panning the camera around the outside of Aerith's house and running through slums and surrounding areas produces pretty noticeable frame pacing problems.
Spider-man remastered kept crashing saying that the GPU driver was out of date but I installed the latest driver a few days ago. I fresh installed the new driver with DDU. The game ran without crashing but the FPS was constantly dropping (26-116), game freezes and texture poppins. (I am running the game on a Gen 4 ssd)
Besides that, re-installing the driver with DDU caused a new issue. My monitor refresh rate got locked to 60hz. I can't change it back to 75hz, there is only one option available. ( I know it's not a huge difference but I do want the option to choose what I paid for)
I am sorry to hear that you also have issues with Spider-Man and with the refresh rate, it will be a pleasure to help you, since these issues are different from the one of this thread, as recommended before, please open a thread per issue.
We have been working on the replication of your issue and we were able to reproduce it. I want to let you know that with our latest Beta driver (101.5315) and latest internal driver code the stuttering is no longer visible as per our tests. Refer to video:

The year off and travelling around the world clearly refers to the same trip. Quirrel meets Voldemort and starts serving him immediately. He takes up the act of trembling and stuttering. He tells the lie that he's met vampires to explain the change: in PS chapter 8 we learn that
Quirrel has never actually met vampires. He wasn't serving Voldemort just out of fear, and Voldemort occasionally punishing him wasn't enough reason for him to genuinely tremble of fear all of the time.
It was not due to Voldemort's possession of Quirrell; however, I would wager having Voldemort's face growing out of the back of his head did nothing to help Quirrell stop stammering, but rather served to exacerbate Quirrell's speech impediment.
It was an act. He wanted to look harmless to divert attention away from him (and from Voldemort). When Harry meets finally uncovers him as the true villain of the story, his stutter is gone and is a more assertive character.
It was due to the intense strain and torment of having Voldemort glued to the back of his head; however, once Voldemort was in control and he spoke for Quirrell there was no more stuttering. SO I guess some of Quirrell's stuttering may have been an act, but the only time we see him speak clearly is when Voldemort is in control.
I've stumbled upon this problem with my brand new RX 6400. I brought a RX 6400 about two weeks ago and the first week was really smooth sailing, it was an upgrade from my older graphic card and thus, I've downloaded and tried games that demanded heavily from GPU, like detroid: become human, GTA V, Final Fantasy XIV and they all are played without any issues. But as soon as I tried an less demanding game as League of Legends, that was always 144fps smooth with my old RX 570 now it is hardly playable.
The issue is, at the start of the game, when there are almost two minutes of nothing happening on the screen my fps, if I uncap then, will go up to 200-300, but as soon as the minions clash my fps already drops bellow 144 and as the game progress and in game effects become more present, the fps hits numbers below 60fps, all with massive fps ossilation, or stuttering, going from 200 to 20, then back to 200 again. (and as the game progresses and the new fps celing is lower it will bounce back it, from 100 to 20 then back to 100, from 50 to 20 then back to 50 again, and so goes on).
Something to be taken in consideration is: this GPU have PCI 4.0 and my MOBO only PCI 3.0, but I've made some researches about the performance on 3.0 and it was calculated something like 15-20% fps loss.
I had the similar problem to yours. You need to log into your lol client, click settings (next to the X button), go to GAME section and click Prefer DX9 Legacy Mode (Turn ON). I used this option and it helped me.
I had a lot of challenges with stuttering as a child, and I really let it hold me back. I would never answer questions in class, and always dreaded the annual public speaking requirement, where I had to give a 5-minute speech to the class. This was something that caused a lot of anxiety and emotional pain. When I was younger, I held a lot of that emotional pain inside, but sometime around grade 5 or 6 I reached a point where I just exploded and had to let all of those emotions out. I still remember spending a few days being supported by my mom and the rest of the family as I cried and raged and let it all out.
It took many years to reach another turning point near the end of high school where I finally decided that I was tired of letting my stutter hold me back and that I could be myself, even in spite of having a stutter.
I think a lot of times people focus on the negatives of having a stutter, but looking back, I am grateful for my stutter and everything that it has taught me. I think I am a more understanding and compassionate person because of it, and it has led me on a journey of self-discovery that has helped me become the person I am today, and I like who that person is.

As much of the nation watches the U.S. Open Golf Championship, it is impossible not to think about our late friend Ken Venturi. Ken overcame many challenges to win the Open at Congressional in 1964 and go on to become the voice of golf for more than three decades.
However, Ken faced no bigger obstacle than stuttering. Ken Venturi was a champion to those who stutter, going out of his way to share his personal experience when consulted by a colleague, friend, or child who stutters.
Alan Rabinowitz, Ph.D., who passed away in 2018, was an explorer, wildlife conservationist, and author. He established the Hukawng Valley Tiger Reserve in northern Myanmar, which is about the size of the state of Vermont.
I use a lot of settings lower. Tram average and filtering too. Also gameworks all closed. Shadows and lightings also one setting lower than highest. The fps are good over 60 all the times. But the stuttering problem in fights specially or worst in night make the game unplayable. Is square enix thing or have to do with navi cards?
I havent see any other cards to have such big problem with this game. In other games i am more than good with the card the problem is with this specific game. May i ask AMD to check it out and if they can do something?
Thanks for this, Gabrielle. My main character in one of my novels actually has a stutter and as I was writing the first draft I struggled a lot with how to portray his stutter. This is really helpful!
I have a character that I wanted to have a stutter. I fought with how to get it across for way too long. The character is very thoughtful and the major leader in his community.
This was perfect thank you for sharing.
I am writng te character of Emily Blunt for a school play. She is an actor and she struggled with stuttering when she was younger. This article really helped me develop her and the script for the play. Thanks!
Gabrielle, you blow me away. I love this post and how much care and detail you put into it. It makes out right giddy to write my character with a stutter. Write on fellow INTJer ?
May the Kingdom be blessed by writing.
As what title says, I can run the game smoothly for about 10 minutes, then it starts stuttering and switching to 5-10 fps randomly. I have the second update patched but that didn't help, and lowering the setting did not help either.
No one seems to know 100% as to why this occurs. I think its some kind of memory leak after a while that builds up to a point to where the bad performance and stuttering comes into play. Many people believe that its because the engine was designed around unified memory which is whats causing the stuttering on PC with its non-unified memory. One things for sure. The new patch that was supposed to fix the issue did not. The game engine was designed around unified memory and they didn't put very much effort in making it work properly on the PC's separate ram and Vram pools.. Which is rather odd considering this game was supposed to have been designed from the ground up around the PC.
