Todd,

Glad to hear that you found the presentations useful.
Thanks go to Farallon Geographics for putting most of this together.

We have chosen the path of lightweight documentation...which just
means that we prepare documentation as needed.
Let me know if you need something more formal that what I provide here.
The de-facto documentation would be the django model class called
AddressBase which is currently here:
http://code.google.com/p/eas/source/browse/trunk/web/MAD/models/models.py#381
A base address is the street segment, the street number, and an XY coordinate.
The original notion of a base address was a door to a building.
This does not hold up in practice because of the numerous business
processes around addresses.
For example, here in San Francisco, we may issue a permit for an
address to an empty lot before the building exists.
We also support a "service address" - a location that will never have
a building.
A base address may contain unit addresses.
These could be condos, apartments, TIC, etc.
Synonyms for a unit address include sub-address (esri) and secondary
address (you).
Our de-facto documentation would be the django model class called
Addresses which is currently here:
http://code.google.com/p/eas/source/browse/trunk/web/MAD/models/models.py#896
The core data model can be seen here:
https://eas.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/database/erd_20110901.jpeg

> Do you have a list of the unit types that your support?
Unit Types currently include the following: Other, Apartment, Suite
This domain is isolated in a separate table so you could include
whatever you want.

EAS does not support this right now.
You are not the first to inquire about this.
I have created an enhancement request here:
http://code.google.com/p/eas/issues/detail?id=604

I hope this helps.

Paul
