Hi

I have just installed EW7.10 on Ubuntu 18

I need to save mseed data.

However, ew2mseed is not able to correctly identify the IP address of the waveserver. It seems EW is not reading correctly the line of the waveserve IP addr.

Any ideas?

Hi Ema,

Are you trying to connect to a waveserver on the localhost or a different host? You should be able to use the getmenu <host>:<port> command to do a quick check to see if you can connect to the waveserver and what data is there.

Hi Nick

I am connecting to teh localhost and with getmenu I get teh list of teh data recorded.

The problem is that ew2mseed does not open the link to the waveserver even if teh IP is written properly in the .d file.

What is the IP you are using? If you use 0.0.0.0 for the waveserver,
that's fine as it will bind to all open interfaces. But you can't use
0.0.0.0 as a destination. You'd need to use 127.0.0.1 or an actual IP
address. This may not be your issue at all; just a thought since I don't
see your config files.

Hi Stefan,

many thanks for your reply.

The IP address is set in ew2mseed.d as "WaveServer 0.0.0.0 16022".

However mseed files are not created and the log file (copied below) reports the correct port number but not the IP address.

Moreover, if I change teh port number in ew2mseed.d it is changed in the log file. No success with the IP address, like if setuptcpclient_ew() is reading teh address somewhere else.

I used EW7.8 in the past and never had this problem.

I think you misconfigured the WaveServer parameter in ew2mseed.d file.

It should be: WaveServer 127.0.0.1 16022
