Dear all,

Recently, I updated to SeisComP 6.0. Unfortunately, after rerunning the update-config and restarting my SeisComP system, my ewexport can no longer retrieve waveform data from the Earthworm server.

This is the error message:

export_scnl: <SendQueueLength> Unknown command in <Exp02_CWBSN_20_49.d>.
20231126_UTC_06:45:15 export_scnl(MOD_EXPORT_SCNL_ACK): Read command file <Exp02_CWBSN_20_49.d>

20231126_UTC_06:45:46 export_scnl(MOD_EXPORT_SCNL_ACK): No connection after 30 seconds

I've ensured that the expected heartbeats (SeisComp) are larger than the heartbeat send rate (Earthworm), and the messages are the same in both configuration files. But it still no work...

In fact, this issue has consistently bothered us, often occurring after updating or restarting SeisComP. When this problem occurs, we usually repeatedly restart both Earthworm and the Seedlink module of SeisComP until a successful connection is established.

This time, though, it seems that no matter what approach we take, the connection keeps failing. Therefore, I would like to seek advice from everyone to resolve this persistent issue.

Thank you all.

Just to be sure, your EW IP address is 192.168.20.226, and you are instructing export_scnl module to listen on TCP port 11002, right?.
Then, on your ewexport configuration, you have to define on which IP and port export_scnl is listening (192.168.20.226 / 11002 in this case).

Screenshot is not very visible, but I suspect you have configured ports 11003 and 11004. That will not work.

Also, consider that export_scnl is a one-to-one connection. So, if you have another SeisComp who has already established a connection to export_scnl, you will not be able to connect your new SeisComp system.

Your ports are different. They should be the same. I see in the EW export.d you have 11002 and different numbers in the SeisComp screen....

Thank you for the reminders from Victor and Paul.

I apologize for the incomplete images I provided earlier. I have now updated and attached screenshots for both my Earthworm and SeisComP as follows:

Thank you all.

Hi,

well, now the Earthworm screenshots are very small, but I can see you are using the default ModuleId for the 3 modules: MOD_EXPORT_SCNL_ACK. If multiple running modules have same module ID, you will get into trouble!.

You have to manually define in earthworm.d file 3 different Module IDs, one for each running export module. Something like this:
 Module   MOD_EXPORT_SCNL_ACK_11002  250
 Module   MOD_EXPORT_SCNL_ACK_11003  251
 Module   MOD_EXPORT_SCNL_ACK_11004  252

You will also need to change .desc files (one for each export module), and assign the custom created module ID on each one.

Hope it helps,
Victor
