| Dear EwA Friends,
This global day of giving is your chance to make a real difference. Support the EwA Onea Mentorship Program, our Participatory Science Program, and EwA core operations today. Your gift is invaluable and directly advances our mission. If you've donated already, thousands of thanks! Feel free to share our ask to your network and share the love :-)
At Earthwise Aware (EwA), mentoring is one of the most powerful ways to protect biodiversity and build a sustainable future. EwA’s approach is unique: our ethical framework and systems-based perspective ensure that conservation is inclusive, scientifically rigorous, and grounded in long-term ecological understanding. The EwA Onea Mentorship Program connects students, interns, and early-career professionals with experienced ecologists, participatory scientists, and naturalists. Participants gain hands-on field experience, master rigorous science methods, and practice conservation that bridges generations, cultures, and skills.
“Interning with EwA this summer allowed me to slow down and truly observe seasonal changes, improve my skills in identifying plants, birds, and insects, and see how my work directly supports both research and community education. The mentorship and collaborative field experience have solidified my goal of pursuing a career in conservation.” – Amanda, EwA Summer MIT Intern 2025 |

| Our program is not only for the young. We also welcome and support those who did not have the opportunity earlier in life to build scientific, naturalist, or conservation skills. By opening doors at every stage of life, we help people become stronger stewards of nature and active contributors to science. “Having always been a tree hugger, I have joyfully deepened my knowledge of seasonal changes and the intricate lives of trees through three years of recording plant and animal life cycles with an EwA team. These weekly connections with nature and the sharpening of my observation skills have expanded my appreciation of natural wonders and given me the confidence to share them with others. Thank you, EwA.” – Sarah, EwA Participatory Scientist since 2022 EwA mentees, and the naturalists and leaders who guide them, make a tangible difference. They monitor biodiversity, collect critical ecological data, and raise awareness in their communities. Together, mentees, mentors, and participatory scientists co-create research projects, analyze data, and develop tools and resources that advance both science and education. The Onea Mentorship Program was made possible by a generous bequest from our dear friend Daniel Onea, who passed away last year. His gift laid the foundation for this program and strengthens EwA’s operations, enabling us to expand opportunities for mentees and continue our work protecting biodiversity. Now, we need your help to make it a lasting program. Your support will help us: Provide stipends and resources for interns and mentees Support and equip the mentors and leaders who guide the program Offer training and field equipment for hands-on conservation work Expand outreach so that people of all ages can access mentorship and leadership opportunities Strengthen an inclusive community of practice that nurtures the next generation of conservation leaders
Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us sustain and grow this work. Together, we can equip people across generations with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to tackle the urgent biodiversity and climate challenges of our time. 👉 Please consider donating today to support EwA. Thank you for believing in this mission and for standing with us. With gratitude, – The EwA Team |
